“Communities of Excellence is a great character program for schools. It’s easy to implement, it’s meaningful for the students, and it involves the whole community. It’s about building excellence in students and, ultimately, excellence in America. That’s a pretty good goal, don’t you think?
“It’s based on the 8 Keys of Excellence – principles like Integrity, Failure Leads to Success, Commitment, and Ownership. The 8 Keys have been around for over 20 years. Thousands of teachers have taught them to their students and the results have been incredible.
“It’s so inexpensive to get this program into a school. It’s only $10 per student for the whole year. The teachers get lesson plans for each month and the students get a key ring and keycards for all of the Keys.”
TO A FRIEND:
“You should check out the website – it’s at www.CommunitiesofExcellence.org. If you want to make a donation, you can do it right there online.”
TO SOMEONE WITH A SCHOOL OR DISTRICT:
“There are a lot of ways to fund the program – from the school budget, PTA fundraisers, private donations, a company can adopt the school, or you can request a grant. I can send you a template for a grant request, if you need one.”
TO A BUSINESS PERSON:
“You can adopt a school with 500 kids for just $5,000. Which school would you like to adopt?”
TO A COMMUNITY LEADER “Would you be willing to write a letter endorsing Communities of Excellence that I can take to the local school superintendents and some possible corporate donors?”
